In support of recent security directives, NIH is implementing a technical update to enhance security measures focused on protecting data provided by NIH Controlled-Access Data Repositories (CADRs).<\/p>\n

Specifically, as of April 4, 2025, NIH is prohibiting access to and ending any remaining ongoing projects involving NIH CADRs and associated data by researchers and institutions located in countries of concern. These countries include China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela, consistent with EO 14117 and 28 CFR Part 202 \u201cPreventing Access to U.S. Sensitive Personal Data and Government-Related Data by Countries of Concern or Covered Persons.\u201d Please see Guide Notice<\/a> NOT-OD-25-083\u00a0for more details.\u00a0 Any questions about this change can be submitted to\u00a0gds@mail.nih.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In order to comply with this new NIH policy,<\/p>\n

  1. TCIA is currently unable to process new controlled data access requests. We are actively working on implementing new controlled access data requirements mandated by this directive, and will update this page with more details as they become available.<\/li>\n
  2. Users with existing Data Usage Agreements on file may have had their accounts disabled. If you\u00a0have an active limited access license, are not from a country of concern, and\u00a0are\u00a0having troubleaccessing the dataset(s), please contact our helpdesk(help.cancerimagingarchive.net).<\/li>\n
  3. Someof our datasets are “controlled access” due to re-identification risks associated with reconstructing 3D radiological images of the head. We are actively implementing steps to generate new “masked” versions of these datasets\u00a0that will be\u00a0published\u00a0under an open-access license.\u00a0Please check back periodically for updates.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
